Maverick Field

Maverick Field is the Home of the Championship Marshall Maverick Baseball program. The facility opened in 1980 after the completion of the current MHS campus.

With the scoreboard in left field and tall pines in the background of centerfield, Maverick Field is considered one of the top baseball parks in East Texas.  The stands are close to the action, giving fans top notch sightlines.  A gentle slope along the third base line allows more fans with lawn chairs to take in the action.  During big games, nearly 1,000 fans have packed the park making it an atmosphere of championship baseball.

A new press box & concession stand made its debut in 2004. It's a 2-story facility that gives the radio broadcasters and other media outlets an enclosed area  complete with AC, heat, carpet, scoring tables, and a bird's-eye view of entire field.

The entire field has an in-ground sprinkler system to ensure that the greenest grass can be offered to the outfielders.  Meanwhile the infield remains covered during inclement weather to ensure the best fielding conditions possible for the home and visiting teams.
